Fun with Wedding Wines

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011

I’ve had several couples in this week who were getting married and were tasting wine for their wedding. We always seem to get more wine tastings for weddings scheduled in the spring. Wedding season must be on the way!

The funny thing was, each couple wanted something different.

One couple wanted to create their own sparkling wine. They had tasted a Prosecco from Italy and wanted to recreate it.

Another wanted to give split bottles to friends and family. They loved the idea of creating their own label with their picture on it. They were also on a budget, so getting 48 split bottles of wine out of a batch was a great way for them to save money.

The third wanted to pair a wine with a specific dish at the rehearsal dinner. Their friend was a chef and came with them to taste the wine so that he could season the dishes perfectly.

The thing I love about working at this little wine shop in Ft Collins is that we were able to do ALL of that. Each couple was able to put their own personal spin on it. They all wanted wedding wine, and each came up with a solution that really worked for their budget, their wedding and their personality.
